The ceremony and reception was to be held in one of those classic old world country clubs where the event rooms are subdivided into smaller rooms which open up to accommodate the number of guests as they rise. However, the rooms' decor don't necessarily come together as one. For this reason, from the get go, a year before the wedding, it was always planned to cover all the walls in white fabric to make the rooms more cohesive. This plan, together with the unique centerpieces at each table and the attention to every detail the mother-of-the-bride paid to her lovely daughter's wedding made for one beautiful and magical celebration that was literally filled with love and joy. The ceremony in the round, under an unconventional huppah (traditional Jewish wedding canopy) of fresh flowers hanging off a tree in the courtyard was so unique and simply sublime. Cocktails were held under a huge tent over the patio which featured an ice bar, the wedding and the groom's cakes as well as comfortable lounge furnishings. When the doors to the great hall were opened from the patio side, guests were blown away by the rich display of colors and flowers on the royal conference head table. The rooms came together with the help of Exclusive Events Inc. as fabric was elegantly draped to cover the walls and lighting added life to the ambience in every room. It was definitely one of the most satisfying "jobs" I had ever done if only because it was such a pleasure to do a great job for such a beautiful and loving family.

The bride and her mother came to me with the idea of "travel" as a theme for the wedding. I was immediately inspired by the globe as a symbol for travel and thus carried the round shape over to many of the wedding's different aspects including the tall and low centerpieces and even the elevated head table which was situated right in the middle of the Ritz-Carlton ballroom. The bride had also chosen papaya and aqua green as primary colors for her wedding. Conveniently these colors easily symbolize earth and water respectively. As you will see in the photos the colors were used effectively to be consistent with the theme which was incorporated not only with the leather luggage name tags that served both as place cards and favors but also in the changing pictures displayed on the 12-foot screens wrapped around the ballroom perimeter walls. This wedding was a most enjoyable experience for me if only because it gave me a second chance to work with a wonderful family, as I had designed the flowers for the bride's elder sister 5 years before.

This summer wedding was held at an estate overlooking a breathtaking view of a fabulous golf course was classic, elegant and romantic. Overflowing urns of fresh flowers greeted guests at the front door and down the stone steps. The fabric towers topped with large lush bouquets were perfect to accent the background of an endless carpet of green grass. The centerpieces on the tables under the fabric draped tent were abundantly full complementing the richness of the gold rimmed china and stemware. The green and white color combination prevalent throughout the event brought a refreshing coolness to the warm July day that turned into the most romantic evening the couple and their friends and families will always remember as beautiful and enchanting. Classic. Elegant. Romantic. Three words that definitely describe the bride and groom's shared styles and personalities to perfection.

The word for the evening was DRAMA per the beautiful bride's request. Taking it to heart, we chose red as the primary color with purple as an accent color. It was an unexpected combination of two strong colors that indeed brought drama to the tables. The red rose bouquet remains to be one of my favorites to this day. It was simple yet it was grand. As a highlight of the evening, everyone was surprised and delighted when at the end of the bride and groom's first dance, fireworks went off from each of the tall candelabra centerpieces all over the ballroom. I had enjoyed working with the bride and her mother so much and was overjoyed when I got the call for another family wedding just two months later.

My favorite season of the year is autumn if only because of all the rich jewel tone colors that work so well together to make for oh so fabulous floral creations. The setting for this particular wedding was also paramount with the ceremony taking place in a beautiful church that has a very dramatic Gothic design with a facade perfect for a bride's dramatic entrance. The reception was held in a tent erected in the backyard of the bride's distinguished early 20th century family mansion. Having done the bride's sister's wedding 2 months earlier, this was quite a special wedding to work on if only because it was such a pleasure working for the same special welcoming family once again.
